Title: Transferred to General Bugs - Version Keywords different from Master Keywords
Post by: DigPeter on October 13, 2013, 03:44:01 PM
As a continuation of the test discussed in thread: https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=1064.0 , I set up a new database with "versioning exif without orientation".  This fixes the problem of horizontal, portrait images.

In this new database, keywords in versions are different from those in the master files.  This is what I did:

- created database with 12 masters raw files and 12 versions created in LR
- no keywords in any of these files
- set metadata preferences as in Meta prefs.jpg (see attached zip)
- set versioning preferences as in Versioning prefs.jpg
- wrote keywords into raw master files as shown in Raw KWs.jpg
- propagate data to versions, with results in Version KWs.jpg.

Comparison of the 2 sets of keywords shows that the the hiearchical KWs of the raw files have been split out into their path elements.  This is not what I would expect. Is this my settings or a bug?

Hi,
I tried to propagate data from master to version, and had the same experience:

QuoteComparison of the 2 sets of keywords shows that the the hiearchical KWs of the raw files have been split out into their path elements.

Data to propagate selected: XMP without LR/CRS data
I enforced propagation using Commands > Relations > Propagate data to versions.
Version 152.

Indeed, not what I would expect... could this be related to the settings in my test database? And if so, what settings are relevant here?

Regards,

Ger

You have Write path elements set in Metadata preferences. This should be the reason.
