Title: Semi-automation of crash-dump uploads and/or Bugzilla
Post by: JLGF1 on July 19, 2020, 09:08:59 PM

Suggestion:

Goto: Help->Support->Upload crash-dump

# IMatch looks in ~/Appdata/local/Temp and finds most recent crash-dump Zip file.
# IMatch offers to upload crash-dump to an IMatch (eg) Dropbox folder
# IMatch uploads crash-dump if requested

# an auto-ticket creation would be nice, but not absolutely necessary.  A manual ticket creation for the support address would be a good alternative.

Waaay to much work.
I get maybe one crash message per week, if at all.
The Viewer crash on delete was an exception, because 3 users reported it.

Besides:

Allowing users to upload a DUMP, which probably contains a lot of personal data, to a resource provided by me opens a can of worms under the strict EU privacy laws (GDPR).
I would need to consult an expensive law firm to understand all the implications, come up with a 40 page privacy statement you would have to sign before uploading the data...

If a user sends me a link to her/his Dropbox, OneDrive etc. is a totally different thing.
