Post by: Frank on June 26, 2013, 08:47:36 PM
The following file formats are missing for my GPS tracks.
I use Iblue 747+
*.bin   --> Raw data of the tracker
*.gpx
*.kml

There are may also other GPS log extension used by others and may be needed in the future

Being able to track .gpx and .kml files in iMatch 5 would be useful, esp given the inclusion of the Map panel. I do currently use a GPS receiver for my camera that directly records locations, but I also have a collection of GPS log files.

Mario,

may be a compromise is to add a user defined white list for all file extensions which shall be imported in IMatch WITHOUT ANY special thumbnail or metadata processing. Just XMP sidecars for such file can be sufficient. For opening such files, the default windows application shall be used. At a later time you can think to support special file extensions, depending on their real content and metadata and on real demand. May be I am wrong, but such whitelist implementation should be less effort, than control and support of all extensions through your helpful, busy hands. I would prefer a black list, which includes by default e.g. only *.xmp, *.tmp and *.thm, but this is my personal opinion.

Regards, Martin

Can be done via Edit > Preferences > File Formats.
