Title: Copy files to another directory
Post by: jldodge on April 19, 2020, 08:19:02 PM
I want to copy files from one catalogue to another folder not in the catalog. The folder with the original content has a number of subfolders but is within a catalog. I tried to use the filter process (star and color label) on the primary folder but could not get results into the window to then copy. Is this possible OR do I have to use the filter in each subfolder?

I would enable the hierarchical display mode for the file window so you see all files in the folder and its sub-folders.
Have you considered this? Do you know about The Hierarchical Display Mode (Displaying files in sub-folders, child categories etc.) (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#fw_basics.htm?dl=h-33) yet?

I enabled the heirarchy view  but it only goes one level down, i.e. only displays pictures in the first level subfolders. My structure is master, subfolder year, subfolder subject. If I start with the year, I can see all pictures in the subject subfolders. If I start with the master, I cannot display pictures in the second level subfolder. Note: because I have subject subfolders, I do not have pictures in the subfolder for the year.

You can tell it to show one level, two levels or all levels.
Please take the time to acturally read the help topic (and the menu) I've linked above so you know how to use this feature.
