Title: Canon 70D Image Stabilisation record
Post by: clpratt on January 03, 2015, 07:00:44 PM
Hello all,
I have a Canon 70D. Does anyone know if the Image Stabilisation state is recorded in the camera EXIF for this camera, or in any Canon EOS models.
I am using an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens.

regards
Chris

You can see all metadata in your files in the ExifTool Command Processor using the "list metadata" preset. Did you see anything that looks like the info you're after?

If not, the ExifTool user forum (http://u88.n24.queensu.ca/exiftool/forum/) is a great place to ask as well.

Hi Mario,
thank you for your suggestion of using the ECP to search for any reference to Image Stabilisation in my 70D images.
I have searched but found nothing relevant.
But when searching on the web I did find a reference on http://www.exiv2.org/tags-canon.html (http://www.exiv2.org/tags-canon.html) . In the second block of data at Tag 34 (dec) Image stabilisation is mentioned, but maybe it doesn't apply to all Canon cameras.
I will ask in the ExifTool forum as you suggested.

Chris
