Title: Show events on timeline starting on left edge of window.
Post by: ubacher on October 03, 2021, 02:48:35 PM
If I have the events timeline on the left (or right) and I go to an event via a favorite the event should
display completely (i.e. be left justified). Currently it starts the display one month before the event.
(See screenshot)
This can mean it is not visible at all. Scrolling via the mouse wheel does not allow precise positioning.

I realize this is a screen-real-estate problem. If one can afford to have the timeline window large enough this is
a negligible problem.

What did you do to the poor toolbar in the Event View?
Is your Event View really only that small?

The system tries to scroll the event into the center of the window (which should be as wide as possible of course).
If you make your event view so narrow (why not dock it to the bottom instead?) this can fail, especially if an events are wider than the screen area. There are limits of what tech can do.

I really recommend you split the Event View horizontally to give the system some screen space to work with. Just look at the system trying to somehow layout the toolbar...

Because I have many events starting on the same date it is easier to see them when there is a lot of vertical space.

Have you considered zooming out a bit?

If I zoom out to have the events showing the text is too small to read.
