Title: Software reviews
Post by: Aubrey on October 01, 2021, 01:19:08 PM
Interesting website, I've added IMatch review: https://www.softwarereviews.com
They need commercial email address to register/log in - or through your linkedin account.
Comprehensive questions - so be prepared to spend 7 - 10 minutes.

Aubrey.

I'm a bit wary of such sites. This one, too.

Usually these sites are just some front end feed by some bots which harvest data from software publisher's web sites.
I have found rudimentary entries for IMatch on a number of very similar and fishy pages. Basically the first paragraph from the IMatch web site or the metadata I used (or the ASP shareware database entry for IMatch). I always think these sites only want to collect email and personal data from people.

They softwarereviews.com web site does not even list a phone number or physical address on their AboutUs page. So beware - may just be an email address harvester.
Also, on their Opt Out: Selling Personal Data (https://www.softwarereviews.com/opt_out/new) page they require you to enter your name and email address (!) to opt out. Seems like a scam to me.

If you want to write a review about IMatch, use a well-known site like Capterra (https://www.capterra.com/p/126559/IMatch/reviews/) (Gardner Group).
I link to Capterra on the IMatch home page and there are plenty of reviews already (thanks to all who took the time to write a review there).

Despite everything (after all, we don't know exactly what this site is), it is a good thing to write reports about IMatch.
And that is exactly what Aubrey has done.
Very good, thanks.

Yes, letting other know about IMatch is a good thing and very welcome.
I just don't want friendly people handing out their email and personal data to scam web sites.

I have 2 email addresses, one I use for sites I'm not too sure of! In any case they only let me in using my linkedin account - which being semi retired is not too important.
