Title: Folder structure not appearing in Imatch 2017
Post by: CollieDog on January 29, 2018, 11:19:16 PM
Hi,
I recently installed an additional harddrive onto which I moved my 2017 and 2018 photo collections.
For each year, I have photos stored according to the month and day:
ie)

N-Drive:

2017 Photos
2017-01-Jan-15 Visit to the woods
2017-02-Feb-26 Letterpress printing lesson
2017-03-Mar-19 Friend's birthday

2018 Photos
2018-07-July-17 Biking
2018-08-Aug-25 Hiking at trails

I imported these into Imatch as I've done in the past but to my surprise, the folders are appearing in a 'flat' order. The topmost folder (ie 2017 Photos, 2018 Photos) containing the subfolders, are missing. The subfolders are appearing as if they do not have top directory.
They appear in this way:

N-Drive:

2017-01-Jan-15 Visit to the woods
2017-02-Feb-26 Letterpress printing lesson
2017-03-Mar-19 Friend's birthday
2018-07-July-17 Biking
2018-08-Aug-25 Hiking at trails

Any idea why this is happening? This only appears on my new harddrive. On all other drives, the directory structure is normal.

Looks like you are not indexing the top folder 2017 Photos and 2018 Photos. Just add them to your data base and you will see the structure. You can just drag and drop them from windows explorer.

Right.

IMatch indexes only the folders you add to your database. It does not automatically add parent folders or anything.
Add the parent folders. Press <F5> afterwards to refresh the Media & Folders tree so IMatch links the existing folders to the newly added parents and you're all set.
