can't keep imatch from searching the entire database

I have somehow enabled a global file search without intending to. I select a folder in Media & Folders, type the name of a city I want to see photos from into the search field in the quick filter ribbon, hit return, and the UI shows the message, "Searching the entire database...". When the search completes, the quick filter ribbon shows "DB:<my search term>"at the end of the line with labels, "Media & Folders Categories Timeline Events People Dashboard". I've never seen this before.

 When I want to search the entire database, I normally click on Database at the top Media & Folders and search from there.

I've searched the help file and haven't found an answer yet. I also searched the forum without success.

What have I done wrong and how do I fix this?

Maybe you have enabled this icon?

PS: the other unknown icons like the rocket are custom icons from my side.
