Category Assignment Dialog - Allow filter to display full-hierarchy

Right now, the category assignment dialog handles regular-expressions-filtering. 
Hence, if shoes|furniture|appliance is entered into the search bar, this is the result:

@All
|---shoes
|---furniture
|---appliance


But, I would like to have also the option to display the sub-categories.  Like this:

@All
|---shoes
|------sandals
|------flip-flops
|------loafers
|------sneakers
|---furniture
|------bed
|---------comforter
|------lamp
|------dresser
|---appliance
|------refrigerator
|------oven
|------computers/electronics
|---------VCR


This would enhance the experience/speed/ease of assigning both categories and keywords
