IMatch comes with a complete set of file
management functions.
These functions replace and extend
the file management functions available in Windows Explorer or the Windows shell.
Moving and Copying Files
IMatch allows you to move or copy files from any thumbnail window, the result set windows or your bookmarks collection. You can either use one of the Copy or Move commands or just drag and drop images with the mouse to the target folder.
IMatch keeps a history of the last recently used folders for copying and moving. You can quickly access these folders with a single mouse click. This makes it very convenient to move / copy large numbers of images around on your system.
Handling Duplicate Images
When you copy or move an image, IMatch checks if the target folder already contains an image with the same file name.
If so, IMatch displays a special dialog box, showing you the existing image in that folder, and the image you are currently copying or moving.
This dialog allows you to review both images, and to either replace or rename the existing image, or to replace it.
The dialog shows important image information, thumbnails of both images, and so-called difference indicators. These indicators allow you to quickly determine how the images differ (size, date and time, dimensions). |

Deleting Images
IMatch allows you to delete images in the same way you would delete images in Windows Explorer. Per default, IMatch uses the Windows Recycle Bin for all delete operations, so you can recover accidentally deleted images easily. When you delete an image, IMatch prompts you to confirm the delete operation. If you know what you are doing, you can also hold down the <Ctrl> key while pressing the <Del> key to avoid this extra confirmation dialog.
Renaming Images
IMatch allows you to rename images directly in all thumbnail windows via the usual <F2> keyboard shortcut, or by clicking on the file name. You can also rename folders directly in IMatch.
If a file with the same name already exists, IMatch shows a warning message and allows you to change the file name.
If you work with Canon CRW files and THM files, IMatch automatically renames the THM file when you rename the CRW file, and vice versa.
Working in Batches
All file commands in IMatch work with the current selection. You can copy / move / delete any number of images at the same time. You can also select any number of images and drag it to a new folder to move or copy these images. |
